Service learning is an integral part of the CSUMB education. As a part of the ENSTU 384S Social and Ecological Justice course, I am required to complete 30 hours of service learning with a community partner. I have been placed with Return of the Natives and am participating in virtual service learning because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through my service learning, I am creating informational posters for the Return of the Natives' social media accounts. These posters provide intend to educate the public on native plants and habitats. The posters that I have created can be viewed below. Furthermore, I also have worked to create an informative video on habitats for fourth-grade students as a part of the Return of the Natives Eco Ambassador program. My service learning with Return of the Natives has allowed me to contribute to projects that increase environmental literacy and accessibility. Additionally, I have been able to develop my skills in video creation and digital art through my service learning.
